![]() | LES GUIS - THE PHOTOS FROM 1999 |
- This is a photograph of the front of the barn (the rear can be seen in photograph 16). The barn is on 2 levels (and I'm going eventually to put in 2 more) and has a footprint of 280 square metres!
- This photograph is taken from further back up the lane where the lane "forks" to Farmer Parret's field, and to some more parcels of my land. You can go down this little lane, turning right at the bottom, and you can come up to the side of the house (see photos 10,11 and 12).
- This is a closer shot down the "fork".
- This is a shot taken a bit farther down the lane towards the barn. Can't remember what I was doing to the Merc at this moment.
- This is the reverse angle shot to photograph 4, from the end of the lane. About 200 metres behind here is the village spring.
- Paul's now advanced towards the barn from where he was in photograph 5, and taken a shot of the house. This will be the main way in to the farmhouse once I get organised.
- This is almost the same shot as in photograph 3 but taken farther down the "fork".
- This is the reverse angle shot to photo 7.
- This is the photograph taken over the left shoulder of someone standing in the position of the photographer of photograph 9, and shows the rear of the house.
- Taken from further round from the position of photograph 9.
- A better view of the rear of the house.
- The front of the house, missing tiles 'n' all.
- Reverse angle shot of photograph 12. Compare this photograph with photo 6 of the year 2000.
- An "aerial photograph" of the house, taken whilst I was working on the barn roof. Yes, me on a roof!
- Don't suppose Paul could resist taking this one! Me mowing the lawn! Never happened at Gainsborough Road! Famous three-wheeled industrial lawnmower bought from the Jette (Brussels) Council auction sales for £1.50 ($2.50)!
- The barn as was. Compare this with photo 5 of the year 2000 or photo 7 of the year 2001!
- This is a view to the south in the direction of Le Quartier. You can see the corner of my barn roof in the photograph. A photograph taken today from the same place would feature the wind turbine.
- This is a better view to the south, which I took from the roof of the barn whilst I was up there working.
- This is a view east in the direction of Montaigut-en-Combrailles. This photograph was taken maybe 200 metres from my house.
- This is a view to the north in the direction of Montmarault. The photograph was taken maybe some 250 metres from my house
- Just to prove that I am not talking rubbish, here I am on the barn roof replacing loose tiles. If I'd have sold tickets to this event I'd be a rich man now! Yes - me on a roof!
- Here you can see the work I had to do to put in an oak beam and brick pillars to support the weight of the stone wall that otherwise would come crashing down on my head
- If you look carefully at the enlarged image you can see some light green tags visible in the field. This is where I planted my fruit trees.
- Here you can see the solar panels and wind turbine on display, before they were mounted up on their respective supports in 2000. They actually did give out a charge in this position, a fact which impressed me greatly.
