Last night I was i some kind of seaside town and there was a kind of expedition going off somewhere into the far north and I tried to tag myself along with it and the people agreed that I could come but kept on having thsse secret meetings without asking me. I kept on stumbiling across these meetings and in the end I was becoming rather short-tempered and at one particular one I said “is this a private meeting or can anyone join in?”. They said “yes, anyone can join in” so I went and they were busy allocating people to different kayaks – how you walk down onto the beach, how you get into your kayak (…they were actually these North American multi-purpose canoes…), how you push away, what happens if your kayak falls over, all this kind of thing, asking if you could swim. There were two girls there, pretty identical except that one was in a skirt – a light blue denim skirt instead of in trousers. They were talking about that – you had better chase the mosquitos off your knees, all that kind of thing, and this was starting to get rather serious. I had this feeling that no matter how much I pressed myself, I was being excluded from this trip and it was a very uncomfortable position to be in.<\/p>\n
But anyway …<\/p>\n
With no alarm this morning (after my efforts yesterday it’s hardly a surprise) I was awake at about 07:45 and out of bed by 08:00.<\/p>\n
Having my medication (or such as there is left) I came back to look at the dictaphone, with the results that I mentioned just now. And then the digital sound files.<\/p>\n
To be honest, I have to admit that my heart wasn’t in it and what with one thing another, including talking to several friends on the internet, it took me almost until lunchtime to do it.<\/p>\n
Then a trip down to Caliburn to bring up the shopping. I’d bought enough stuff to see me through 5 days of Leuven but of course I didn’t need it. And there was of course my stock of panic-buying articles – the four jars of vegan mayonnaise. If I’m not going back to Leuven until I’ve no idea when, I’ll need as much of that as I can get.<\/p>\n
After lunch – the left-over half of the baguette from yesterday, I sat down and had a look at the blog entry from Tuesday. I was hoping to do that, the one from yesterday and a whole lot more besides but I fell asleep on my chair not once or twice but three times. I seem to remember that whenever I went long-distance driving during the night in the past, I needed the next day to recover.<\/p>\n
For tea, I had a burger with pasta. I have plenty of burgers, having bought two packs of two in Belgium to eat there during the evenings.<\/p>\n
